ECS-100 system can provide the following distinctive features:

Safety: The safety and anti-interference of the system conforms to the international standards in the industrial environment.

Compatibility: According to the fieldbus standards, coexistence of the traditional analog signal and the digital signal will enable enterprise existing industrial automation programs and the implementation of the algorithm technology to be easier to execute.

Alarm: Using distributed alarm management system. It can manage unlimited regions’ alarms based on events, alarm safety, alarm filter and remote alarms through dial-up input or output management equipment.

Power Supply: Using concentrated power supply, both AC and DC power supply adopt hot redundancy mode. Hot plug and play components can facilitate installation and maintenance.

Signal Precision: I/O modules use internationally newly high-precision A/D sampling technology (∑-△A/D), advanced signal isolation technology, hot plug and play technology, multi-level PCB and SMT technology.

Program Tools: Program tools (including FBD, LD, SFC and ST) conforming to IEC1131-3 standard help the users who are originally familiar with PLC programming can learn quickly ECS-100.

System structure

ECS-100 control system is composed of control stations, operation nodes (including engineer station, operator station, server, data management station, time synchronization server and etc.) and system network (process control network, operating network) and etc. Overall structure of the system is shown in the following:

Engineer station installed with configuration platform and system maintenance tools is designed for professional engineers and technicians. The detail functions include: system generation, definition of the database structure, operation configuration, graphic configuration, report making and control program. System maintenance tools achieve network debugging, fault diagnosis and signal conditioning in process control.

Operator station is composed of industrial PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer and etc. It’s the human machine interface for operators to implement the process control management task. High performance IPC, excellent graphic functionality, multi-window displays that can facilitate centralized display, centralized operation and centralized management of the process information.

Server can exchange information to share real-time data and historical data to realize totally integrated automation of process industry by enterprise management network. Through the peer-to-peer C/S operation network, it can exchange real-time data and historical data between the operation nodes.

Data management station is used to communicate with external data sources to achieve the centralized management of process control data.

Time synchronization server is used to synchronize system time.

Control station is the I/O conditioning unit that directly communicates with the industrial filed devices. It’s composed of controllers, data transmission modules, I/O modules, wiring terminal boards and internal I/O bus. Internal components of the control station may be configured to be redundant as required to ensure reliable system performance.

Process control network can realize the communication between the operation nodes and the control stations to transmit control information and commands. The process control network’s redundancy design makes information transmission reliable, high-speed.

Operation network uses high-speed Ethernet network technology to achieve data communication between server and time synchronization server and clients.

System Scale

ECS-100 system's capacity is up to 63 pairs of redundant control stations and 72 operation nodes. The amount of the control station depends on the I/O scale. The amount of the operation nodes corresponds to different requirements of users. The control cycle of ECS-100 control system is 50ms at shortest. Each control station can handle 192 control loops at most and can be configured with 8 I/O stations at most. And each I/O station can configure with 16 various I/O modules at most. The I/O capacity of the ECS-100 control system can reach to 20,000 tags.

Historical database capacity is up to 20,000 tags, and it can keep them for six months.

System Hardware

Control Station
Control station is the core unit directly related to the field I/O data sampling, information transmission and operation to realize the real-time industrial process control. By different software and hardware configuration, it can realize different functions, such as process control station, logic control station and data acquisition station. The main controller is the core of control station, and it expands various functions by high-speed data network --SBUS to achieve signal conditioning and data acquisition, loop control, sequence control, optimize control and various control algorithms.
The control station is mostly composed of cabinets, racks, power supply modules, terminal boards and various modules (including the main controllers, data transmission modules and input/output modules). The main controller uses 32-bit ARM processing chips to achieve superior performance and fast computation speed.

Operation Nodes
Operation nodes are the human machine interface of the control system, including engineer stations, operator stations, data management stations and server stations. When installed system software, it can be chosen to install the engineer station or operator station. The setting of network strategy was determined by the work role and style of the operation nodes.
In ECS-100 system, an operation node may be set as common mode or C/S mode according to the actual situation by choosing the corresponding network strategy. In the common mode, all operation nodes are set as engineer stations or operator stations, and the network strategy is set as "local", the operation nodes communicate directly with control stations via the control network. In C/S mode, the "client" operation nodes communicate with the server via operation network. The real-time data on the control stations as a server transmits to the "client" nodes.
An engineer station or operator station may be set as a server according to different network strategies in ECS-100 system. Data station may be configured and also be on another operation node. By setting network strategy, data station can be configured as external data source to provide data for other operation nodes to realize data sharing on the operation network.

System Network
ECS-100 system employs sophisticated computer communication technologies to develop high-speed redundant data transmission network to achieve timely delivery of the real-time data and historical data.
ECS-100 system communication network is divided into 4 levels, i.e. Information Management Network, Operation Network, Process Control Network and I/O Bus.

Information Management Network
The Information Management Network that is the information transmission way of comprehensive management adopts common Ethernet technology for InPlant message and management. It realizes the connection between enterprise information management network and SCnet II process control network to obtain the process and operation information and to assign the management commands and production guidance from the supervisory level. It employs large size database on the management network to share information, and it also connects all control devices to the enterprise information management network to realize the integrated management, schedule, statistics and decision-making in the InPlant level.

Process Control Network (SCnet II Network)
SCnet II is ECS-100 system's network of process control, which employs high-speed redundant industrial Ethernet. It directly links to the control station and operator station nodes. It's the channel to transmit real-time process control information with
high reliability and real-time. SCnet II can link with the upper Information Management Network or the third party devices through the server.
The communication interfaces of all nodes on the process control network SCnet II use the special Ethernet controller. The protocol of data transmission is TCP/IP and UDP/IP.

I/O Bus (SBUS)
I/O bus is the internal communication network of the control station, known as the SBUS. SBUS is the redundant buses that are divided into two levels: SBUS-S2 for connection between the main controller and the data transmission module and SBUS-S1 for connection between the data transmission module and the I/O modules.

System Software

ECS-100 control system adopts SUPCON self-developed AdvanTrol-Pro software package.

AdvanTrol-Pro software package is an automation application software platform based on the Windows 2000/XP operating system. It achieves system configuration, data service and real-time monitoring in the WebField series control system of SUPCON.

System configuration software is usually installed on the engineer station. Application software can implement information communication, control and management by OPC technology. SCKey system configuration is the core of the software. All modules are compatible and they are composed of comprehensive software platforms to support SUPCON WebField system family. System monitoring software can be installed on the engineer station, operator station or server. And it implements the data indication, data communication and data storage.
